Winter Pests

As the seasons turn and the colder weather sets in, pests seek refuge in our warm homes. In the past problems with invading pests, just seemed to be disgusting, but now a state executive director for their pest management association has commented that pests like birds and mice, their feathers and excrements have been connected to salmonella. In the resent case of the Peanut Corporation of America, inspectors found dead rodents, rodent excrement, and bird feathers in the plant. If the plant had followed health codes cleaned and gotten pest control services, all those people would not have gotten sick or even died.

These animals can be transmitters of salmonella and this news has caused concern in our household. We’ve had problems with both pigeons and mice. The pigeons moved from one side of the roof to the other leaving their trail on the roof and in the flower beds for months! It was everywhere. During the summer the mice stay in the fields near our house and get fat off the grain growing there. Come winter they move their chubby little bodies through any space they can squeeze through to get into the house. The tail, tail sign of a mouse infestation is their excrements usually found in cupboards where food is stored or under the sink if there is any moisture building up there. I did not realize that pest control companies also took care of birds, but if they come back this Spring, I’ll be sure to call a Salt Lake City pest control professional to rid us of our annoying pests.

Credit Restoration

The world of credit is fraught with risks and, for many people it can get out of hand. Americans love to play, and credit can get them what they want, when they want it. Standing up to Bullying

Email forwarding is a great way to hear those nice “feel good” stories, but Christmas time is always the best time to share those stories. The other day, a teenager read one to my church congregation. The story was about a young girl at Christmas time in the ‘50’s being pushed off the sidewalk into a large puddle. The girl went into a drugstore down the street to warm up. The store owner asked her what had happened. She told him the name of a well known bully. The drugstore owner then gave her a candy stick to make her feel better. After the young girl had warmed up sufficiently, she carried her candy stick unopened back out to the street she had come from. Walking a short distance she noticed that same bully was leaning against a stop sign at the corner. The small girl took a deep breath and walked up to the boy, held out the candy stick, and said, “Merry Christmas!” The teenager stood with his mouth agape and the girl walked on by.

This is a charming story about how one could behave when bullying help is needed. Every parent wants to be able to help their children to overcome in these circumstances, but may not feel confident in their knowledge or decisions and should seek parenting information to assist them. This information may also include disciplining children strategies if their child is actually the bully spoken of in this story. This Christmas story had a good ending and especially when it comes to our children, real life should too.
